Drama in NYC. No lie, there was a fire in my Laundromat. Bubbles Inc. was on fire. And not that good fire, but actual fire (with smoke and five fire-trucks). This meant that I had to haul my loads of laundry to the Megamat down the street, and let me tell you, they have nothing on Bubbles. First, the Megamat does not have Grandma Bubbles. Grandma Bubbles is the kindly Spanish speaking lady who smiles and talks to me in Spanish (even though I don't know a lick of Spanish). She is the nicest lady on our block. Megamat had a mean lady who took my dollar, gave me quarters, and insisted that I give her another dollar because the one I gave her a crisper dollar. WTF?! (And I saw a mouse.)
The kiddies have been treating me well, I am glad for Thanksgiving. I wish I were going home, but Christmas is not that far off. I am fairly certain that I will be having T-giving with Amanda and some of her friends in Brooklyn. Uh... Brooklyn. It is so far, but turkey, stuffing, and yams are essential to my Thanksgiving experience, and I will not compromise.
On the up side, the Dems are in control of the House and the Senate. This could be good, but it seems that for the next several years we will be cleaning up after bush (lower case was deliberate). We have a lot of ground to cover. We need to have equal rights for people, women's choice in what happens to their bodies, rethinking about a war on a concept, the list goes on.
:) peace out, friends!
